Learning environment encourages student development

KUCHING: An institution’s learning environment has a direct correlation in the building of students’ skills, knowledge and ability to be industry driven. Learning environment by definition is more than the environment surrounding the area of the institution but extends to the culture, facilities and knowledge that exist around students while studying in the institution. At SEGi College Sarawak, our mission is to teach and expose our students to a pre-professional environment.

SEGi College Sarawak continuously upgrades their facilities to ensure they are in line with industry needs, an example of this is their Moot Court utilised by the Law students. Other facilities such as medical laboratories, hospital ward simulation rooms, simulation hotel rooms, mock banquet room, art studio and iMac laboratory are also in place to provide practical training amenities for programmes such as medical laboratory technology, nursing, graphic design and hospitality.

There are many exciting student activities available and the administration is always open to new suggestions. I am very happy with my student life in SEGi College Sarawak campus, "said Ms. Nisha Maria, a student from the Diploma in Business Administration at SEGi College Sarawak.

Mr. Jackson Sim, who is also a student from the Diploma in Business Administration at SEGi College Sarawak, said that the facilities are important for student development.

"The facilities provided by SEGi College Sarawak are modern and complete, and enable students to make full use of them. Thus, creating a conducive environment for students to learn," added Sim.

In short, students are not only engaged through learning in the classroom but are also exposed to different learning environments relevant to their studies in order to produce graduates with greater skills and knowledge.

SEGi College Sarawak offers courses from Foundation and Diploma level to Bachelor and Master degrees in various disciplines such as Business, Multimedia, Marketing, Psychology, Law and Hospitality, among others.
