KUCHING: The Healthcare industry is currently being portrayed and adopted as part of a new lifestyle perspective.
The general public are increasingly looking at healthcare products and services as a new need in daily life. Greater numbers of people visit healthcare institutions, such as hospitals and clinics, in order to know more about and ultimately improve their health status. In addition, the government is encouraging everyone to be healthier through health and wellness campaigns.
Therefore, with this increasing demand for healthcare services, healthcare institutions require more skilled medical staff in various specialisations to meet the new market demand.
SEGi College Sarawak (SCS) recognises the increased demand and the need for skilled people in medical field and, as such, is committed to educating high quality graduates to fill this gap.
“With the support of our academic team, who are passionate, dedicated and have a full bag of industry background, we are able to impart upon students invaluable knowledge and produce more skilled graduates in the health industry”, said Madam Elina Tiu, Principal of SEGi College Sarawak.
A conducive learning environment is very important in order to deliver knowledge both theory and practical.
“We ensure that our students are exposed to an enjoyable and enriching learning environment by providing updated academic healthcare facilities such as a simulation ward and health science laboratories”, added Madam Tiu.
SCS currently offers healthcare diploma programmes in the fields of Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology under the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health.
All the programmes under the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health are recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
SCS also provides financial assistance by way of study loans and scholarships to high achievers in SPM and STPM.
